The state of Rajasthan has enough potential, in terms of travel and
tourism, to take the visitors by storm. The tradition, cuisine and culture
of the cities and towns are truly worth exploring. Dance and music have
been part and parcel of this royal state since time immemorial. The
village folks have maintained the age-old traditions, adding an unfailing
charm to the state.
Rajasthan is also known for its traditional cuisine- both vegetarian and
non-vegetarian. Each and every city is popular for its unique cuisine.
However, scarcity of water and fresh green vegetable have given rise to a
new style of cooking- using milk, butter milk and clarified butter instead
of water. Dal Bati Churma is one of the most popular dishes of the state.
Returning without taking part in the fairs and festivals of Rajasthan is
a horrible thing, for the state lives by the charm of these festivities.
It truly makes a splendid sight when the locals congregate to put up
performances, pushing away all the barriers of the hectic schedules of
their lives.
