Bangalore, the capital city of the state of Karnataka, is a progressing city. Also known as the 'Silicon Valley of India', the city takes pride in the booming IT industry. Conveniently located in the state of Karnataka, Bangalore acts as a gateway to a number of weekend excursions. Mysore is not a big distance from here and so is a perfect weekend destination. The Mysore Palace is one of the key attractions of the city. One can also pay a visit to the Bandipur National Park in Karnataka. Nagarhole National Park, Wayanad and Mudumalai are the other ideal destinations to spend your weekends.


Bangalore – Mysore Palace (140 km) – Bangalore

The special Dussehra-paintings are created in such a way that seeing from any angle it appears to be coming towards you. Today, the palace stands in the form of a museum. No wonder, the beauty and charm of the palace are still intact and makes every excursion trip to this place a dream to come back. Originally built in wood the palace suffered sever damages in a fire in 1897 AD, only to be rebuilt in 1912 AD.


Bangalore – Bandipur National Park (215 km) – Bangalore
Ride the wild side of the state of Karnataka at the Bandipur National Park. Spreading over an area of 874.20 sq km, the national park is also a Tiger Reserve. Other animals that can easily be spotted include elephant, spotted deer, sambar, sloth bear, four-horned antelope and Nilgiri langur.
Bangalore – Nagarhole National Park (210 km) – Bangalore
Visit a national park that was a hunting preserve of the erstwhile rulers of Mysore. Set up in the year 1955, the park covers an area of 644 sq. km. The park has recently been renamed the Rajiv Gandhi National Park. Embark on an elephant or a jeep safari to spot animals like sloth bear, jungle cat, civet, four-horned antelope, spotted deer, elephant, wild dog, flying fox, tiger, panther, gaur among others.


Bangalore – Wayanad (282 km)– Bangalore
One of the finest options of a weekend excursions trip is to drive to Wayanad, a mist-clad hill station on the Western Ghats in the state of Kerala. Lying at an altitude ranging between 700 m and 2,100 m, Wayanad has attractions like the Pookat Lake, the Kuruvadweep Island, the Thirunelly Temple, the Pazhassi Tomb and the Glass Temple of Kottamunda among others.


Bangalore – Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary (224 km)– Bangalore
Escape to the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctaury (Tamil Nadu) that is blessed with thickly wooded hills, plateaus, deep valleys, waterfalls, rivers, streams and marshes. The Ooty-Mysore Highway runs through the park, separating Mudumalai from Bandipur. The animal inmates of the park include elephant, gaur, langur, tiger, leopard, chital, sloth bear, barking deer, four-horned antelope, sambar, hyena, wild dog, spotted deer, jackal, mouse deer etc. Capture some of the exciting moments to make your excursion trip memorable.
